While the Spanish roads weren’t perfect, neither were they impossibly rough. The difference between Sport and Sport+ modes is subtle—a trait we’ve praised on other new Astons, like the Vantage. Race mode introduces a firmer ride, but it remains manageable, especially on smooth, sweeping roads where performance driving is possible. The square steering wheel feels solid in hand. The molded crease running vertically up the backside offers a secure grip, though some may find it uncomfortable over long distances. The steering feel is natural, with a satisfying weight that remains consistent across drive modes. Finding a long, open stretch of country road, I brought the Valhalla to a stop and launched it. After a slight rear-wheel wiggle as the tires found their grip, it was pure forward momentum. Aston Martin claims 0-62 mph in 2.5 seconds, which translates to roughly 2.4 seconds for 0-60 mph. The speed is impressive but not shocking in a class full of competitors. However, the flat torque curve ensures 90% of the peak 811 lb-ft is available from 2,500 rpm to 6,700 rpm. The acceleration never lets up. One potential criticism for supercar aficionados is the redline of 7,000 rpm, which is lower than the high-revving engines of traditional V-12 exotics. Furthermore, the acoustics are complex—a symphony of electric motors, turbos, induction, and exhaust.
