The Concours at Wynn: The New Crown Jewel of Automotive Excellence
The automotive landscape is perpetually shifting, with venerable institutions facing new challenges to their historical dominance. For decades, the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance has reigned as the unquestioned monarch of global automotive gatherings. Yet, the very fabric of the supercar world is undergoing a transformation, and a bold challenger has emerged from the neon heart of the desert. The Concours at Wynn Las Vegas has exploded onto the scene, not just as a regional contender, but as a formidable challenger to the established global hierarchy, potentially reshaping how we define the premier supercar event.
The Changing Landscape of the Supercar Collector
The definition of a “concours d’elegance” has traditionally centered on the display and judging of historical vehicles based on their appearance and historical significance. While these events retain their prestige, a parallel world has rapidly evolved: the obsession with brand-new, cutting-edge hypercars and limited-edition production models. For a growing contingent of enthusiasts and industry titans, the most exciting spectacle isn’t a 1930s roadster, but the unveiling of the next multi-million dollar marvel.
Historically, the void in the global supercar calendar was felt acutely following the demise of the Geneva International Motor Show. This void was strategically filled by The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering. The Quail, always an exceptional appetizer to the main course of Pebble Beach, has cultivated a reputation as the must-attend venue for manufacturers seeking to debut their most significant offerings to a discerning audience of wealthy collectors and journalists.
For instance, the iconic Lamborghini Aventador debuted in Geneva in 2011, followed by the hyper-exclusive Veneno in 2013. Fast forward to more recent years, and we see Lamborghini choosing The Quail for the debut of its Temerario (the Huracán successor) in 2024. The luxury manufacturer even introduced the Fenomeno – a multi-million dollar limited edition – at the 2025 Quail. Similarly, Bugatti debuted its groundbreaking Chiron in Geneva in 2016, but the subsequent ultra-exclusive Divo (2018) and Mistral (2022) were both revealed at The Quail. Dozens of other groundbreaking vehicles have followed this pattern, firmly establishing The Quail as the preeminent platform for new supercar introductions.
Until this past Halloween, the standing of The Quail seemed untouchable. However, a visit to the 2025 Las Vegas Concours completely upended that assumption. While I attended the inaugural event in 2024 and found it pleasant, it struck me as decidedly regional. This year, the transformation was breathtaking. Armed with a special invitation from Czinger, I attended, and I can unequivocally state that this show is no longer a mere regional event; it is a global automotive juggernaut.
The Architectural Spectacle of Wynn Las Vegas
The backdrop of the Wynn Las Vegas creates an atmosphere unlike any other automotive event. The city itself, renowned for its opulent casinos and world-class dining, provides a unique stage for displaying multi-million dollar automobiles. Unlike the tranquil coastal settings of Pebble Beach or the pastoral charm of Amelia Island, the Concours at Wynn is an electrifying urban experience. Attendees don’t just watch cars; they live the spectacle.
The Wynn’s infrastructure supports a level of scale and exclusivity that few other venues can match. The spacious lawns and architectural marvels of the resort provide a canvas for massive OEM displays that dominate the grounds. This scale is evident in the staggering number of hypercars present, representing some of the most sought-after and exclusive vehicles ever produced. The synergy between the luxury resort and high-end automotive display is seamless, creating an immersive experience that extends beyond the show floor and into the Las Vegas nightlife.
A Mind-Blowing Tribute to Bugatti
The defining moment of the 2025 Concours was undoubtedly the Bugatti showcase. The event celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Bugatti Veyron by featuring an unprecedented 48 Veyrons on the lawn. Considering the Veyron’s total production run of only 450 units worldwide, having nearly 11% of all Veyrons ever built concentrated in one location is a staggering feat.
This wasn’t just a collection of Veyrons; it was a curated journey through the Veyron’s evolution. Featured vehicles included various Super Sport and Vitesse models, alongside modern Bugatti icons such as the Centodieci and the Chiron Super Sport. Adding to the hypercar spectacle was the Bugatti Divo, the radical aerodynamic hypercar, and the Mistral, the final Bugatti roadster. The lineup was completed with the Divo’s successor, the Bolide race car, and a preview of the highly anticipated Tourbillon, the 18-cylinder hybrid that will succeed the Chiron. This display demonstrated an unparalleled commitment from Bugatti, offering an in-depth look at the pinnacle of hypercar engineering and design that has defined an era.
The presence of such a significant number of rare vehicles highlights the growing importance of the Las Vegas Concours in the world of exclusive automotive events. The meticulous organization required to assemble such a collection—ranging from production models to the rarest of one-off concepts—points to the Wynn’s influence and the manufacturer’s strategic focus on this new hub of supercar passion.
Pagani’s American Debut and a Monumental Gathering
While the Bugatti tribute was undeniably impressive, the Pagani display was equally spectacular, underscoring the Wynn’s growing importance to ultra-exclusive marques. The event hosted the largest gathering of Pagani vehicles ever assembled in North America. Among the impressive contingent were several Zonda models, including the ultra-rare Zonda Revolution (one of only five built globally), alongside dozens of Huayra variants and the Utopia.
However, the highlight for many was the debut of the Huayra Codalunga Speedster, a limited-edition model that Pagani plans to produce in only 10 examples at a price of $7 million each (before taxes and tariffs). The striking green example on display was rumored to belong to Apple’s Tim Cook. The fact that this ultra-exclusive hypercar made its debut at the Las Vegas Concours speaks volumes about the show’s growing global prestige. Furthermore, the legendary founder, Horatio Pagani, was honored on stage for his contributions to automotive design, reinforcing the event’s growing legitimacy in the eyes of industry pioneers.
Hosting the largest Pagani gathering in North American history, coupled with a groundbreaking production debut and a tribute to Horatio Pagani, firmly positions the Concours at Wynn as a critical player in the supercar calendar. It signals that the world’s most exclusive manufacturers now view Las Vegas as a primary venue for unveiling their most ambitious creations to the North American market.
A Dazzling Display of Lamborghini’s “Few-Offs”
The Lamborghini section of the 2025 Las Vegas Concours was simply mind-blowing, representing the largest gathering of Lamborghini vehicles ever assembled. With approximately 230 Lamborghinis on the lawn – making up nearly half of the 600 vehicles present at the show – the scale was immense.
Among the remarkable collection were some of Lamborghini’s most exclusive and sought-after models. The lineup included the Veneno Coupe, one of only three sold to the public; the limited-production Sesto Elemento (10 units built); and the Reventón (21 units). The Centenario, available in both coupe and convertible versions, was also prominently featured. Seeing these “few-offs,” as Lamborghini refers to its limited-production vehicles, together in one place was like walking through the company’s vault. It was a stunning and surreal display of precious, high-performance Italian metal and carbon fiber that rarely congregates outside the factory walls.
The sheer volume and diversity of the Lamborghini presence underscore the Wynn’s ability to draw the most coveted examples from collectors. This commitment to showcasing these ultra-rare, high-horsepower models solidifies the Las Vegas Concours’ position as a premier destination for Lamborghini enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
The Unprecedented Breadth of the Concours
While the hypercar highlights dominated the narrative, the 2025 Las Vegas Concours offered a spectacular breadth of automotive excellence. From Bugatti and Pagani to Lamborghini, the event catered to every facet of luxury automotive enthusiasm.
In the realm of hypercars, attendees were treated to an impressive showcase from Koenigsegg, featuring some of their most potent and innovative creations. The Czinger brand also made a significant presence, showcasing its revolutionary hybrid hypercars. Furthermore, the McLaren Project Endurance, the brand’s cutting-edge endurance race prototype, made its debut at the event, adding another layer of innovation and cutting-edge technology to the proceedings.
Beyond the modern era, the Concours also paid homage to automotive history with a diverse range of vintage and classic vehicles. HWA EVO vehicles, highly sought-after iterations of Mercedes-Benz sports cars, were on display, along with the cutting-edge Mercedes-AMG One, a hypercar derived directly from Formula 1 technology. Adding a touch of nostalgia to the event, the Oldsmobile Aerotechs, legendary land speed record-setting cars from the 1980s, were also featured, drawing significant attention from automotive historians and enthusiasts. The collection was rounded out by the iconic McLaren F1, a legendary supercar from the 1990s that continues to capture the imagination of enthusiasts.
Even within the judged categories, the Concours featured an incredible array of talent. One of the most prestigious awards of the day went to
